The log form preserves preference ordering lets you linearize non-linear forms (makes aggregating hypothetical utility easier.) Think of it this way the value function is V = ln(f(u)) where W is a bundle of goods, experiences, ect. You really don't have experience with utility theory. This accomplishes conquest without compromising my trade. On another note, sabotaging Luddite and Hegemony farms might seem like I’m trying to cause a famine but really are a subtle nod that the best food comes from my faction and not anyone else.Įdit: If I really want a faction gone, what I do is invade with marines and then gift the world in question to the independents (nexerelin feature). In a similar vein and as I play with nexerelin this also means that I often fund and escort humanitarian convoys to worlds that are decivilizing so that they don’t turn into a Rimworld and remain in the sector economy. Saturation bombing entire worlds means I can’t sell them stuff so I lose money. This does not apply to the players own colonies and domestic trade is a lot less profitable. The way the economy works in starsector is that the markets of the other empires generate market cap for the goods that they demand. You aren’t but my reasons are more pragmatic.
